I was looking for inspiration for a 21st card. My inspiration came from Cute Card Thursday, the title for this weeks challenge being -Tie It Up !!! Yes it's real money wrapped in cling film attached with silver elastic thread through the rolled tube!! Oops just noticed the glue attaching the metal numbers hasn't dried yet!!Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02393356745133404036noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1932721584862522815.post-11188205897272076112013-04-25T09:13:00.000+01:002013-04-25T17:55:28.985+01:00Can't Stop The Rain

This is my final card as GD for cute card thursday challenge.I've used Splish Splash Splosh Woodware stamps (Thanks to Stella!), coloured with Promarkers, Stickles glitter and lots of gems all mounted onto glitter card! I'm entering this card into the Papertake Weekly Challenge - Weather With You and Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything GoesSuehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02393356745133404036noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1932721584862522815.post-16579495485214886592013-04-18T06:00:00.000+01:002013-04-18T08:47:40.115+01:00Cake walk

This is my 3rd card as GD for Cute Card Thursday. I used Papermania diagonal dots paper as the backing paper and coloured the ribbon with 'peach' promarker. The cakes are stamped and embossed in a variety of embossing powders and 'iced' with Icicle Stickles and finished with yellow stickles for the candle flame! My photography doesn't do justice to the colours!!Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02393356745133404036noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1932721584862522815.post-12028628018358256092013-04-11T10:11:00.000+01:002013-04-11T10:11:27.483+01:00Butterfly Kisses

This is my second card as Cute Card Thursday GD. I love repeat stamping! The Butterfly stamp is by Wendie Rhodes - The Metamorphosis Collection 2008, inked up on a Kaleidacolor (Calypso) rainbow dye inkpad and glittered with Sparkles Diamond PSX. The White butterfly was stamped onto shrink plastic with the larger stamp from the same collection and attached to a circle of mirri board and suspended with ribbon.Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02393356745133404036noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1932721584862522815.post-78905721451490388322013-04-04T08:00:00.000+01:002013-04-04T20:33:26.258+01:00Something Borrowed

This is my first card created as GD for Cute Card Thursday and was inspired by my holidays in Torridon, Scotland. I've 'borrowed a view' of a thistle which I photographed last year! The thistle is stamped with color box chalks and the stamp is by Clarity Stamps from the Scotland collection. Apart from the tartan card by Kanban everything else I used was from my stash.
I seem to have a run on masculine cards at the moment! The card is black and gold not navy as it looks here! I didn't use a template but drew one side of the waistcoat and cut it out, and using the first one as a template cut the next one slightly broader so it could be overlapped and fastened! Using a spare piece of the starry card created a contrasting pocket and placket for the front. I used brads from my stash and a creative expressions antique watch to create a brass fob watch! The chain is a piece of broken costume jewellry stained with Adirondak terra cotta alcohol ink. To create this particular card I chose to make a 'base' card from a piece of A3 card, folding the A3 card in half and cutting it to make a square card 21cm x 21cm.(approx). Then open up the card and make the card into a 'gate fold' card. This also meant that I could make a rather large card but could still use a DL envelope! I attached the starry fronts to the base card before cutting around it and creating a shaped back. You can see the shape is slightly different so the card will stand up. I am entering this card into Cute Card Thursday Challenge 262 - Brass in Pocket, Divas by design - Use Some Metal and Totally papercrafts- metal
With bunnies made from white card and coloured with promarkers. I attached a white pompom from my stash to each one. Using a template for an interlocking zigzag card from creative cardmaking magazine issue 48, I covered the front with a flowery paper from my stash and a few docrafts flowers. Glued feathers on parts of the card just helped to soften it and give some more depth.

I used the kaisercraft clock template and 'old paper' distress ink pad with blending foam. This creates a background in very little time, ink up the blending foam and tap gently over the template. Using 'walnut stain' distress ink pad, swirl over the edges of the card to highlight. Using a 'woodgrain' embossing folder on a piece of pearlescent green card I then used the inked blending foam to highlight the grain. 4 Creative Expressions 'screw effect' brads, 1 Creative Expressions 'brass clockface' suspended with a brad onto a brown card circle. Finished by wrapping hemp cord, sentiment stamped from an old See-d's collection and black gems.

I recently came across my Twinkling H2Os which I've not used for ages. The papermania flowers were painted with the same colours used on the acetate. It's the first time I've tried this technique which is featured in this months papercrafts essentials - issue 91- and will definitely do it again!

I'm often guilty of buying a magazine because of the freebies and then not using them! Along with a few bits and pieces from my own stash, I've used the free Woodware stamps and papers from this months papercraft essentials.Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02393356745133404036noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1932721584862522815.post-26186509631366668342013-01-24T15:51:00.000+00:002013-01-24T15:51:08.069+00:00Playing with mega flakes and flitterglu!

I seem to struggle for ideas when it comes to making cards for men but I was playing with Flitter Glu and Lancashire Rose Mega flakes by Indigo Blue and came up with this one! The gilding effect isn't quite as bright as it looks in the pic and I wouldn't use it again with this particular stamp!! I stamped the background using Kaiser Crafts 'keys' stamp and Adirondack felt dye pad 'latte'. The larger key is a real one! I do know that it doesn't fit anything my family owns! The other keys/keepers are brads from my stash.Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02393356745133404036noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1932721584862522815.post-26176018460148660452013-01-23T06:21:00.000+00:002013-01-23T06:34:29.813+00:00Birthday card - old meets new!
